Yes... and no.

Cacao is still a natural stimulant with its high levels of theobromine and lower (but still present) levels of caffeine.

For some of you, this might not be the best idea if you are somewhat sensitive to any form of stimulant.

You could still have cacao in the early evening, but we would recommend having a smaller dose to your morning cup.

Smaller evening doses of cacao might look like 10-15g.

For some of you who are ex-caffeine junkies, those with chronic stress or burnout, having an evening cacao might not affect you at all, it may even 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 you sleep!

One reason might be due to the tryptophan and serotonergic properties of cacao, that could help relax and engage more of our rest and digest state (IE our parasympathetic nervous system branch).

Another could also be the Anandamide supporting a more blissful & euphoric state.

One final reason could be the effects of cacao’s abundant source of magnesium on the nervous system, muscle tissue, cardiac tissue & the brain.
